Welcome!

Thank you to all who made PaLA 2011 a Great Conference, and especially to those who attended our session!

We hope everyone was able to take away a few ideas to try when you return to your home libraries.

Please do send as many posts, comments or "tweets" as you like so you can compare the different online tools, test your current devices, and decide which modes of access (texting, tweeting, emailing, or web access) work best for you, before you plan and create your own accounts.

Twitter & Tweets

Your "tweets" containing the hash-tag (#pala2011) or sent from the PennStaters2011 Twitter account will show up on every page of this blog in the Twitter widget boxes on the right-hand side of the screen.

Blog Posts from Contributing Authors

If you replied to the email invitation to sign in using your own Google/Gmail account to join this blog as an author of posts, you will see yourself listed under Contributors on the upper right of the page. If you are having trouble getting something to post, see the page here under the MobiLibrarians tab!

Tabs on this Blog

On this blog you will see there are "tabs" across the top for pages with content related to the session:

PaLA 2011 Sessions - This is the primary page for our blog, and any posts you make as an author will appear here in the order they are sent. If you attended a conference session or event you found to be particularly interesting or helpful, please create a short post to share them here. You can also send comments (without being logged in) which will appear under any selected post, from any page of the blog--this can be helpful for asking questions, or answering a question asked by someone else, or for adding links to content related to a post.

Welcome! - You are here!

MobiLibrarians - Here you will find the web addresses, names, and account information for this blog, for the Twitter account, and for the Google/Gmail account we worked with during the session.

Reference - Related material from previous PaLA sessions is linked here, along with some studies, articles and other background information on mobile device ownership and usage trends as they apply to libraries.

Robin's Shelf - You will find links to Robin's materials here.

Patricia's Shelf - Links for tools, path-finders, slides, and other items from Patricia are here.

Sand-Box - A blank page for you to play with editing, links, photos, etc.

Thanks for a great conference!
